We introduced Swedish Bitters into WA, QLD and NSW in 1987 and Celtic Sea Salt into Australia in 1989. We have taught the lost art of Sour Dough Bread Baking throughout the East Coast of Australia since 1989 using the unique Macrobiotic technique perfected by Dr Jacque deLongre of Celtic Sea Salt fame.
We operated the Celtic Organic Sour Dough Bakery and two Organic health food stores on the Gold Coast for 10 years. Our Health food stores were quite unique, we specialised in whole foods, not supplements, our organic growers would pick our produce Thursday morning, we would pick them up Thursday afternoon and have the fresh produce on the shop floor for purchase Friday morning, one of the secrets to selling organic produce with plenty of nutritional content
Celtic Organic Bakery was one of only a small number of bakeries Australia wide that sold no rancid bread. We milled our organic grain instore and used the flour immediately ( grain that is milled cut or rolled and not used within 72 hours, becomes rancid and looses much of its nutritional value ).We specialised in intolerance's and many people were amazed at being able to eat our real bread made from 3 ingredients without getting an allergic reaction.
WE made our bread from start to finish with three ingredients, freshly milled organic grain, filtered water and Celtic sea salt ( that included the sour dough starter as well ) nothing was added to the flour and nothing taken away, it was 100% Organic sour dough bread. Sadly there are very few, breads in Australia today, where the grain is milled into fresh flour and the bread made with 100% whole grain content.
We were one of the first commercial bakeries in Australia to introduce Spelt grain into our bread, we also used Einkhorn, Kumut, Amaranth,wheat,rye,rice and corn. Many of our customers had food intolerances which we catered for.

Food 4 Families Project started it's charity work in 2010, it is the non for profit arm of Gano Direct.Biz. Every dollar spent in this website goes toward our projects which supports the less fortunate people throughout the world, in particular the province of Cebu, Philippines. We support them by providing basic foods, medical assistance, financial support, clothing, educational and business building opportunities.
The Filipino people and the less fortunate people of the world need our support. Our contribution is small in our eyes but in many instances can be life changing to the less fortunate people of this world. They are grateful for small mercy's, as apart from survival, it brings empowerment and hope at being able to start making something of their lives. Their joy is reward enough for us.
